Description
Ocean coral scene with 10 turtles. This Aloha Wood Art rendering is created with 200 - 250 pieces of exotic wood. Due to the three dimensional nature of Intarsia wood working, it is very challenging to achieve this illustration of swimming turtles at various angles. This scene depicts a family of green sea turtles swimming playfully among the coral reef. The Hawaiian green sea turtle (honu) is an endangered species that is treasured by many people. They are considered “'aumakua” or guardians of the people in ancient Hawaiian culture. A notable feature in the design is the beauty of the turtle’s shells. They are created by inlaying contrasting shades of Rosewood and saw dust powder from Ash Wood (lines on the shell). This design has over 40 scroll saw cutouts within the design. Each cut out is achieved by drilling holes in order to feed the saw blade through before the actual cut. We created this design to remind people of the serenity and beauty of Hawaiian sea life.

Each piece of wood is meticulously hand contoured and carefully assembled to create multi-dimensional artwork. The beauty and uniqueness of our artwork comes strictly from the natural colors and grains of various wood types. No staining or painting is involved, only an oil finish is used to ensure the beauty as the wood ages. Wood burning is used for small details such as the scales of a fish or turtle, etc. Each piece of artwork is stamped on the back with our Le Family logo.

Care + Instructions
Using a dry soft cloth, rub the surface with a minimal amount of lemon oil to preserve the natural beauty and shine of the wood. This should be done twice a year or as often as you prefer.
